In principle, you only personalize the tonality.
For me, the most valuable insight in my hi-fi-headphone-history, was to realize what my preferred tonality even looks like,
and how I can realize it.
I would gladly give Oratory a medal!
It is also worth mentioning that you can correct design-related inconsistencies in the FR, such as resonances
(here on the example of the current Utopia,
as a valley and uphill between about 1-10khz) on the basis of FR measurements + EQ.

The one must be convinced in 60 seconds out of the box, and the other listens to the headphones not at all with the fr provided by the manufacturer.
I'm owner of the HE-1000 V2 since last weekend, and haven't heard it for a second with the "standard FR".
And that's where it will stay.
