So I got the tablet today and i love the Android interface and apps and stuff; wasting time on this thing is going to be great :)
However, just half an hour ago I decided to put some music on the player to see how it sounds and suprisingly it's not that bad.

I haven't done any ABing with my s:flo2 but from what I can hear, it's not a half bad player. This might actually replace my s:flo2 when I'm in the library or something.

All I need now is a longer LoD and I'll be good to go :)

UPDATE: Has some slight hiss to it on silent passages :/
I'm loving the search function at the top if I'm feeling a certain song. 8gb internal and a micro sd card slot. I'm really thinking of getting a larger card tomorrow at the mall.

Congrats on your purchase!!
Can you give us a little detail about it?  How's the EQ settings?  How's the response time on the touch screen.  I think that's always been kind of a knock on the Archos products.  How's the picture look?  Nice?

Hmmm I have the old archos 7 media tablet and have been looking at this as an upgrade. Do you have any comparision to that?

Yea sure definitely? What else do you want to know?

EQ? 7 band :)

Response time of touch screen? Pretty much instant; it's resistive (needs pressure) so it's not as good as other touch screens if that bothers you... it doesn't really bother me now but it was a little tough learning how to type on it. I still don't have the hang of it but I'm sure after a week or so I'll be able to type adequately on it. You have to want to become good at it though; if you don't like it and don't want to spend the time to get good you probably won't like it if you want to type a lot. For everything else it's great :)

Pictures are great. I'm only using 480p and the like videos right now; I haven't tried any HD stuff yet but I'll do that sometime this or next week :)

Well I had the Archos 5 which was basically the same thing minus a couple of inches of screen. IMO it's a great upgrade all around. The SQ is better, the screen is huge and the device is very, very thin; a little shorter than 2 pencils stacked up on each other. Very small. Very pretty. I'll post pictures tomorrow when it's light outside :)

From the overall mediocre reviews it's been getting, it doesn't sound like it would be much (if any) of an upgrade from the Archos 7 IMT:

It also has a weaker processor than the 5 IT, and perhaps the 5/7 IMT (both @600MHz, but I think the IMT's is the better of the 2).  I had been considering one to replace my 5 IMT, but I think I'll pass now.

But opinions vary, I suppose.
