Today I don't have my iO-12 so I'm using my 7 years old B&W P7 Wireless (P7W) --- I never selling this headphone because I think is a classic and the sound, even when not reference, is still very good. By the way, my pair is looking like the first day I receiving, with beautiful design and excellent construction quality. I using this headphone a lot for 3-4 years.

So, because I don't have my iO-12 now (and for few more days), and even when the P7 Wireless is very nice, I'm missing the more reference sound of my iO-12, so I decide using my excellent wired-only, very reference and now classic Sennheiser HD800. And because my 2021 MacBook Pro can driving difficult-driving (high impedance) headphones (prior MBP models can't doing this) I decide using my HD800 without an amp and just plugging directly to my MBP. Wow! I forgetting how good my 2021 MBP can driving my HD800s!

Anyway, the sound is obviously very better than my P7W, but at the same time this is reminding me just how good is the iO-12. I saying before that the iO-12's tonal balance isn't far from the reference sound of my HD800. Right now I don't have both at the same time for corroborating one more time this , but I know very well that, again, I'm enjoying the music with my HD800 very similarly to my iO-12. And this is comparing my HD800 in wired-only mode with the iO-12 in BT mode (!).

One more time is very clear for me that Dali doing an excellent job with the R&D of the iO-12.

Any tip for io-12 travel case? I reckon the Dali io4 and 6 one is not big enough. The original case is way to big for my backpack and I just don't wanna put it there unprotected. Perhaps some aftermarket 3rd party case (Amazon, AliExpress etc...) ?

Hi All.

Just found this thread using google, while searching for reviews. Sorry if I've resurrected it.

I've just purchased a pair of Dali io 12 headphones, to replace my wonderful PX8s. Why? Because of the headband issue. Second Pair I've had now brand new and both failed miserably. It's such a shame because I came from XM3s which the PX8s far outweigh in terms of sound quality. Needless to say I'm left very frustrated here with B&W for this monumental cock up of QC or Design/Manufacture.

So a simple Question.....

I listen to EDM, usually Subtronics, Datsik, Rezz, Above and Beyond...you get the idea.

I hope that I've not made a grave mistake on the Dali's. Please tell me that I haven't :triportsad: I'm hoping the Bass button will sort this for me. Will that be the case?

What I like about the PX8 is the punch from the Driver on bass focused tracks, I've not heard punch like it. Absolutely love the PX8 sound quality.

One very nervous buyer until they arrive Friday.

Thanks in advance.

Is (very) possible that you will liking the sound more when activating the "bass" setting. BUT, if you give little time to this headphone (2-3 days), you maybe having a surprise discovering that the "hi-fi" setting is giving you a new sound that you don't anticipating and that you maybe will preferring and even loving.

An EDM listener here. While I prefer 5909s or Momentum 4s from pure fun listening perspective, iO-12 work well on an ordinary day (when I don't specifically look for extra energy). As @angelom suggested, just let you mind to burn-in for a few days, then decide. But I'm afraid you won't be getting that extra energy from them w/o EQ (Bass mode isn't enough) if that's your focus.

You're gonna have a grand ole time, particularly if you plug in via USB-C mode. Won't be able to listen to your old tracks or hear them the same way after the Dali's!

This is my worry, the PX8 is energetic in it's delivery and I'm concerned that the Dalio will be more washed out. I have my fingers crossed that they aren't.
