New Custom-to-Universal IEMs: InEar StageDiver 2/3

Currently I get loan Fitear F111 from my friend. I love how it sounds. I notice really good clarity and instrument separation, noted my musics mostly fusion jazz. I've never satisfied from SD2s until F111 came. Yes, definitely I missing the bass, it could more weighty on SD2s, but fusion jazz will sing technically more precise on F111. Am I right?

HiFiChris, could you elaborate how SD2s compare to F111 ? Mainly because I don't have proper source DAP.

Thanks

Never had the F111 (nor any other Fitear) here at all, sorry.
All of the inears (except a few cheap ones) I have auditioned are the ones I own/have owned (those are listed on my profile) and the whole UE customs wrapup except the UE10Pro and UE female RefMons.

Is there a difference in sound between the SD2 and SD2S?

Difference in size of the shell, thats all... if your ears are on the smaller side, perhaps sd2s is for you..I found the normal sd2 to be an amazing fit when I had it though..

Hey all

I may sell my SD-2 (owned since October) ... just fancy something with more bass. Even the SD-4 wasn't bassy enough for me.
considering new sony z5

Just wanted to see if anyone would consider buying off me. Had 3 yr Thomann warranty and can throw in a spinfit size M tip as a bonus

PM if interested

SD-3 is bassier than either the SD-2 and the SD-4 - It is interesting that InEar decided on a 2-way (2x high/2x low) for the SD-4 as opposed to maybe a 3-way like the SD-3 (low/mid/high) - something like (2x low/mid/high) like a number of other manufacturers do with 4 driver IEMs - it seems like the SD-4 is a SD-2 with more headroom - I have only heard the SD-3 so I could be wrong, but I do know that lack of bass has never been an issue with my 3.....

I just bought a SD3 and have some questions.

1. What tips do people recommend? (I searched this thread for "tips" and quite a few are mentioned.)

The SpinFit looks interesting but I would be wasting at least $10 by buying a couple of sizes to try.

I have a load of tips from various in-ears and the best one so far is translucent silicone that is either from Grado or Audio-Technica. The silicone is thicker than any others. Some of the others seem to fit but then they stay in my ear (the medium Comply tips I have from something, and some tri-flange ety tips)

2. Did it take you a while to get used to the fit? I'm only a few hours in and although they fit, it's not comfortable. My ears are not small. I hope I will get used to it!

General question: When people say Sony hybrids, do they mean those tips with the coloured interior stem, or do they mean the tips with silicone on the outside and foam/sponge between the stem and outer silicone?

It took me a couple days to get used to them and to find the right tips. I achieved great comfort and isolation with large Sony Hybrid tips. Just look for "Sony EPEX 10" at amazon.
