Guys good news burnt the unit for 5hrs now temps are pretty low when compared to old units
Well... in my case it seems to be the opposite.
Had some time this weekend and i let the unit play for hours and hours... - It's already burned for about 20h.
After 4-5h of playing the cover it's ok, I can estimate some 50-60 degrees max. But the bottom of the unit is damn hot - can touch it but only for less than a second. I didn't used the small silicone pads provided by Burson, but some rubber feets from a switch - they have about 5mm - so a bit of extra space. Should be a bit better cooled. In the end I put the unit on the side - now is ok - same temperature on both sides.
The only thing I 'm worried is that from what I saw, the small electrolitic caps they put on teh new revision are rated to only 85 degrees C, not 105 C like the big ones.
About the sound, for the moment I let all V6 Vivids except for the LPF where I put a V6 Classic ( based on the right diagram ). My ideea was to compensate a bit the lack of mids on the Vivid. But it seems it doesn't work as intended, the mids - especially the low mids are quite recessed, the one V6 Classic can only add a bit of smoothness to the sound. Overal the sound is unreal especially if playing some ambiental or celtic music. Air, soundstage and holography in one place. Unfortunatelly voices are a bit thin - I was unable to recognize Madonna's voice. Also the treble is a bit too much - still hear cimbals and triangles in my ears few hours after closing the Play.
So, one of these days I will move to two V6 Classic in I/V and all the rest Vivid. The old unit was set like that and the sound was quite pleasant with good voices but not so good bass and details.
Will see how it plays in the new unit.
