can you compare the w1000z with the TH900?
Whats your favorite Closed Can that isn't the W3000ANV?
Which can would you consider the most neutral

The TH900 have a deeper more refined bass. It's high offer more clarity and micro details.
Sound stage and imaging is also better than the W1000Z. The only weakness is the recessed mids.
The TH900 are more neutral in my opinion, people have stated that the TH-900 sound V-shaped. I disagree, it definitely U shaped.

If I wasn't allow to pick the W3000ANV it would have to be the TH-900. They are really a closed version of the HD800 with lower deeper bass.

I have tried this, it widens up the sound with the W1000Z pads. However the W3000 leather pads are more comfortable for long session listening.

What is supposed to be the big difference between these and the G?

Can't agree with you any more, lovely photo. What headphone stand is in the photo?

It's the Codia from Korea. They are usually available on eBay.

I had a good listen again. Seems they are perfectly suited to orchestral works, but the more modern the type of music becomes, the less suited they are, vocals excepted. They are rather like a pair of closed K701s.

I just got a pair of W1000Z and even with a really crappy source I'm enjoying the hell out of them.

My only gripe is the fit! They seem to be made for people with enormous heads or something because there's barely any force at the top of the earpads but the bottom is pinching into my neck just below my ear. It's rather painful actually. My old A700's had an extra joint to allow articulation in that direction which meant a perfect seal every time but for some reason these don't!

I've heard the X version often required some serious manhandling and bending to make them fit and I think these will require that. Is there a particular method, or trick to bending these into shape to fit properly? I would hate to damage them right out of the gate.

mm, with fit I had to BEND the headband a LOT on my w1000X but that headband was a straight forward metal wire more or less. Not sure how this new Rounded bar will respond. If it's metal there's no issue, how ever if it's any kind of plastic material you may have issues bending it

Oh an L3000 Pads did wonders on my W1000X [but $100 is a bit step lol]

The W1000Z just has a rubber tube covering the metal underneath.
