New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]

I have not tried the RME ADI-2 DAC with the iHA-6, but I can imagine that it should pair quite well via XLR.

The RME ADI-2 DAC is really hard to be faulted in any area, except for most probably its internal headamp, which I’m ok to live with if that’s all I have :)

Hello Everyone,

If there's anyone with DAC-19 with Amanero384 USB running windows 10, I would be very grateful if you could please run a quick test with your preferred player (via it's resampler) to check if playback of 352/384khz sample rates is working (preferably with ASIO).
Just can't get it to work, anything above 192k results in high-pitched/whining sound. Already asked Kingwa if upsampling jumper configuration is causing it, tried every available jumper config (NOS/x2/x4/x8), updated the USB board firmware and tried different cables and USB ports (2.0/3.0/3.1). Nothing helps.
Trying to find out who's the culprit:
1) bad DAC/USB board
2) bad USB on the motherboard (don't think so, as i've tried it on my previous much older PC)
3) bad drivers
4) Windows 10 shenanigans

I would be fine with everything but #1 )

Thank you.

nevermind, DAC firmware re-flash fixed the issue

Has anybody tried the first version of this dac? i have one on the way that i got for a decent price and i cant seem to find anything about it. im not really sure what to expect but im looking forward to it :)
I'm not sure anyone here ever tallied all the versions of this DAC over the years. I owned the 10th anniversary one, but at one time was quite interested in earlier iterations, especially the III one.

I know nothing about the earliest version, but here are some old DAC-19 threads. Maybe you can glean something from them:

There are also some links on this (apparently) early Audio GD web page for the DAC-19. Unfortunately, like many archived AGD pages, this one doesn't contain dates or version names:

I had the model of the dac 19 just before the the 10th anniversary . Cool dac. More on the warmish smooth side. Took me awhile playing with the jumpers inside to get the sound flavor that I liked. I contacted Audio gd and Kingwa sent me what he recommended and that seemed to work best. I guess there is software updates from Audio gd that most people like. Also the serial number gives you the year it was made. Enjoy.

im really interested with the jumpers tweaks and software updates. altough, i think that i cant install v7? like its said on the site : DSP V7 was release in 12th. Oct. The products shipped before the date can update to the V7, include Reference series, DAC 19 series but shipping after 2009, and the DACs of Master series.

im not sure if the dsp version was after 2009, gonna have to look with kingwa i guess.

as for the jumpers, is that easy to tweak ? i found that page : http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/DAC1911/DAC19EN_Use.htm
that is pretty interesting but i want to make sure how to do this before diving in ^^ looks pretty simple with some small push pull action :)

Have you got it yet? If it has the serial number on it the first number is the year it was made.
zoomed date.jpg

looks like F7-10071427, i do have it yes ^^ soooo, 2007 i guess, im not sure since i think its the dsp version ( 2010 ). im really happy for the price i paid ! at that point im just curious :) it sounds very thic/lush but sometimes i wish it was just a tiny bit more neutral but im very picky. Sounds very natural and fun :)

Opening my device, i found out that only one jumper was there and it was set on the * DT *. looking at the settings on audio-gd page about the dsp-1 here : http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/DSP1/DSP1ENspecs.htm,

i concluded that my dac was set to x8 oversampling with -130 db attenuation.

Being curious, i removed the jumper from the DT and i placed it on the PLLEN to bypass the dsp-1 completely.

i guess by doing that, the signal is more direct? sound now seems to be more neutral, tighter but a little bit more fatiguing.

if somebody has more details on what i did and how it affects the sound, that would be amazing ^^

I also took delivery of an older Audio-gd DAC a few weeks ago for, like you, a to-good-a price to pass up.

NFB2.1 DAC.

Anyway, I don't personal know what the jumpers do on the DSP-1, although, it appears that you are missing some jumpers.

This sight deals with the Master 7 but has great break-down of DSP-1 jumpers settings with photos.

Good luck!
