I read somewhere in this thread that a guy who bought a new LCD3 had it's serial number starting with 271XXX.
If you are unsure, you could simply ask Audeze, they are quite helpful.

271 is the 2015 and 282 is the 2016 if i recall correctly

I was asking about the serial number because I was fortunate to win a brand new LCD3 in an event at work. I just got it delivered yesterday and according to the serial, it is in fact a new version (2016-2017)

I am not planning to keep it because I already have an LCD3.

If someone is interested, please Let me know and we can negotiate the price.

Or I may sell my used one instead for a lower price.

Could you save up for the Lyr 2? I think the LCD 3 needs good amping to perform it's best.

Actually, I am not sure about the tube sound. Will it make LCD 3 too warm?

The Micro ZOTL 2 is an exceptional match for the new (& old) LCD-3f. I've been down health wise for a bit, but now that I'm back listening, this is one of the best amps I've heard with the LCD-3, solid state or tube.

I hope you feel better Wildcatsare. I am glad you have found a great amp for your LCD 3. I need to audition the LCD 3 or 4 so I can sample the famed Audeze house sound.
