New Audeze LCD3

How much are you looking to spend, I enjoyed the Fiio E12 with the LCD-3F and my X5 as a source, had plenty of power for it and was only $100.

I don't really have a budget in mind (not to be snobbish, but we're already talking about 2k+ headphone and ~1k pmp). To put a cap, lets say 700$

I'd gladly use an E12 if that's a good match.  Also have my eye on the Pico Power, RX MKIII-B or SR-71b.

Isn't the baby A&K 100 II $699.00?

$895 + $50x2 for 64gig cards. = ~1k

This is pricing before the recent discounts on the ak100 due to the ak100 II release.

Honestly, I don't dig the new mkII form factor to much.

.... So back to my question,  Portable amps for the LCD3? Suggestions?

Low budget I think the E12 is the champ, for middle range I would probably give a good look to the ALO Audio Rx Mk3 B+ (what wonderful naming huh - $649) or the Centrance HiFi M8 ($699), or the new Centrance Hifi Mini M8 (also $699). I haven't owned those last 2 but I have heard them (the Centrance HiFi M8 & ALO Audio ones I mean) and they both sounded great with my LCD-3, though I settled on the E12 because I found the sound only marginally better on the others but the value much better with the Fiio Amp, it's now my go to portable amp for LCD-3, HE-560 & Alpha Dog headphones.

Meier Audio portables have a good reputation though I haven't heard them myself. Have had a solid reputation for some years. FWIW I can vouch for Jan Meier's desktop amps - the Classic is a very good match with the 3F.

I mean: if I upgraded the 3c with the fazor, my impedance automatically goes up to 110ohm?

Audeze don’t upgrades the LCD 3C anymore. Before they had two options: one witch only adding fazors (250 USD) and another that included both fazors and the new 110 Ohms drivers (800 USD).

Is the Bryston BHA-1 still a good choice for the LCD-3 with Fazor? 110 Ohm let me think twice...

so i just got a pair of LCD3 with the Fazor upgrade only (250)
no driver upgrade..
on a side my Conductor will drive them better..maybe.. i really hope they sound like the 3F i listended in the shop..

Are you saying you just have sent one pair of LCD 3C for fazor upgrade? I asked them in July and got the respond that they have stopped doing this due to a lack of interest in the service.

Second hand
I really hope they sound like the 3f, that i know, But with 45ohm so to drive them more power

Okay that explain it!

I haven’t heard any fazor upgraded LCD3 only the 110 Ohm LCD 3F, but other who have sent them in have said it’s an overall sonic upgrade, but that the bass is a bit leaner as it is on the 110 Ohm LCD 3F. I think you will be pleased
