Hi I want to buy some good headphones but I am kind of noob at this.

My price range is  $250-280 , I am currently living in New Zealand. This means that the overall prices are higher.

Sennheiser hd 598 $280 usd.
Denon Ah-D1100  $260 Usd
Ultrasone HFi 580 $333
AKG K142 HD $260

I owned a pair of sennheiser hd 595 before.
I like to have a pronounced bass, hd 595 did not have much of that (i have no amp tough). I loved their clarity of sound but they got their famous crack after six months and I got a full refund at my store :D.

I need to add that I usually where them for long period of times, so they need to be comfortable.

I mostly listen to hip hop, techno, electronic, trance.

What headphones do you recommend me for this price range and for my taste? Unluckily I can’t test the headphones, I can just order them online.

Oh! and I use them for long periods of time, let’s say 4hrs or more.

Hopefully comfortable: D

I read a bit about the cans u recommended they seem to fit my profile :D!!!, the only thing I am worried is about the clampiness?

Hey Bagster good to see a fellow New Zealander. If you are looking for some M50's check sound professionals out, they sell them for a good $180 (NZ) shipped.

But based from what ive reed on these forums id say go for the Ultrasone 580's since you listen to mostly electronic music. These can be purchased off amazon for around $180 shipped too.

If you did like the Hd595 id recommend the HD598's. I have not heard the HD595 but i own the HD598 and i'd say the bass is quite decent when compared to my HD 212 pro, it extends much lower than 212's and generally sounds more full but it doesnt have the impact that the 212's have. These can be brought from Uniquesquared (Authorized Dealer) on ebay for around $270 shipped.

Maybe get a Fiio E7.

It's got a DAC which can substitute the onboard audio, and the amp in the E7 should be enough to power your headphones.
Or you could wait for the Fiio E10 (coming in October). Same DAC as E7, but supposedly better amp chip in there.
Only downside is that it is not powered by a battery like the E7.

Heya,

Wow, costs are nuts for you there.

Do you have a store you're looking at that you can link to us so we can look at their offerings? Sometimes, there are inexpensive gems that are not the norm talked around here, that can be had for much cheaper.

Very best,

Heya,

I'd probably get the Denon D1100 at those prices.

Or the SHR440.

Very best,
