I have another customer who brought his MSB platinum link 24/192 to my shop last week . We try to use our fully modified D1.3X to A/B compare with MSB . MSB is better but not so much . Of course we sold out many D1.3X after this demonstation , but on the other hand it proof my speaking again.

The msb is hitting at the $4000 area i believe?

Heck, if it can sound better than a $1500 Grace m902, it can beat a $4K DAC, why not?

Just as long as it doesn't sacrifice the treble! Please let us know after a couple of days how the progress is going.

I'm listening to my new DAC 1.X, and it sounds very nice. A good step up from the various analog outs I had on the powerbook...very much worth the $200ish, even before I get the balanced amp...

can you give us a comparison to the stock version or even the DAC-AH?

I have the DAC-AH and I'm try to decide between having RAM upgrade it or getting the modified d1.3x.

The dy 2000 op-amp seems to have more of a tube midrange where as the original op-amp seems to be a little more on the lean side with a little more treble reponse.

The dy2000 op-amp seems to be more balanced with the modded dac though.Too little time to play around with the new modded dac--off with the family now.

The 3 caps on the main modded board are NICHICON 2200uf 25v.I plan on changing these out with some rubycon caps soon.
