I'm pretty new to the audio scene and I need some help. Like say I’ve a cowon s9 and it’s rated at 29mW (at 16ohms) per channel.. Its have 40 steps incremental for volume control..[size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
But it sounds so different with each of my 3 earphones.. [size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
For UE TF10 with[size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
Impedance: 32 Ohms
Sensitivity: 117 dB SPL/mW[size=14pt][/size]
It sounds loud enough at step 17 of the volume and there's no significant audible noise..[size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
For my sennheiser ie7 [size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
Impedance: 16 Ohms
Sensitivity: 120 dB SPL[size=14pt][/size]
It sounds loud enough at around the same step 17 with TF10 and no significant audible noise..[size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
However for my IEM [size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
Impedance: 46 Ohms
Sensitivity: 118dB SPL/mW[size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
With a volume step of 13 it's already very loud and there’s a significant audible noise.. [size=14pt][/size]
 [size=14pt][/size]
May I know what is the reason for noise and it is a problem with the cowon player? [size=14pt][/size]
So what should I look out for in buying a DAP and amp in future?[size=14pt][/size]

what does the noise sound like? is this the only phone you hear the noise with? try plugging it into something else like a computer and see if you still hear the noise.
