R2R-11 works well with the HE-400i (I sometimes use this combo myself). The DAC is better than the amp, and can also drive an external power amp via variable pre-outs (you need to move a jumper inside the case). Then you can use a good second hand power amp (Quad 306, something from NAD or Rotel) or one of the better modern Class D amps (e.g. Temple Audio) to drive the HE-6.

I guess this is it then, i will get the R2R11 and enjoy the he400i for a bit. Then i will save up for some power amp to run the he6. Thank you very much everyone
Another question though, how would you guys consider the beyerdynamic amiron home pairing with R2R11? How would it fare compared to Hifiman 400i (massive beyerdynamic sales where I am right now)

How your problems? Im about to get a HE400i next month and also thinking about this problem. im currently having an Xduoo Xd05+v5i opamp. im wondering if this combo can drive HE400i in short time for burn-in purpose. After that, what amp should i buy, using it with xd05 as DAC? my budget is around headphone' price. But, if the xd05 amp can still use for a while, i might have time to get a bit more money if necessary.
