I am in need of an amp for my HD600 and speakers that I am building. Seems like amps that are good at driving both are hard to find. I have been looking at the Bottlehead S.E.X as an option but it is a bit above my price range. I have also looked into vintage amps, but I would prefer something modern. Head-Direct also had some amps that looked interesting but I'm hesitant to buy a cheaply built Chinese product. My sources are a Rega P1 and my Silverstone EB01. I appreciate your input!

A good solution w/ a low cost would be to buy an used receiver from eBay. Specifically a 70's unit from Marantz, Pioneer, Technics, Sansui, etc. These had very good speaker and headphone outputs and can be picked up for under $100 in good shape, might need the pots/switches cleaned and perhaps a cap replaced (although not often). $300 really chokes back on your options. I'd also go the route of a used receiver. The ones Mr. Arroyo mentioned are quite good, but I also like NAD gear. Here is a $250 NAD integrated on Audiogon. You'll also find NAD preamps with headphone out in the $150-$200 ranger. You could always get one of those and add a power amp later.
