Those can get quite expensive for NOS.I picked up a pair of new/old stock HD 250 Linear IIs, 600 ohm and drove them with a Rupert Neve RNHD solid state amp and they were excellent. Crystal clear, great separation and sound stage.
Might be an option for you to consider.

I was looking at the Objective 2 for the AMP.

Ok I finally came to a decision I'm getting a pair of Sennheiser HD380 Pros and a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros. I still have yet to decide on what DAC/Amp to get though but I do know it's between a Modi/Magni stack and an Objective 2.
Thanks to all of you who replied for all the good advice/suggestions you've really helped me a lot.

So I went to Microcenter last night and they had a pair of Sennheiser HD 569s on display and I listened to them, the first thing I noticed was how loud they were and while the sound was clear the highs were way too piercing, almost to the point where it was painful to listen to them. I don;t know maybe it was just the EQ settings I had on my Dx50. Do the HD 380 Pros sound anything like the 569s? If so then I may get something else?

Super bold statement!!! I would like to hear the HD250 now. HD600 with OTL amp is really impressive to me. Same goes for the 650 even though it’s a little too warm for my tastes.I would look into a pair of Sennheiser HD250s and a decent OTL amp.
Hard to find much info on the 250s,but theyre sooooo good from my La Figaro 339.Im guessing a Darkvoice 336 would suffice.
I prefer the sound of the HD250 over the HD6xx and pretty damn close to the ZMF Atticus, which is an 1100.00 headphone.
Being discontinued you will need to buy used.
I think the Meze 99 Classic is very under rated. Side note- I don’t know why they discontinued the maple wood, anyone know?
For $300 and under, Meze 99 Classic is MTME’s pick for that price range. We just got the 99 neo in so I will finally give that a listen. I think it’s $50 cheaper then the classics?

Its a really great old headphone! Mixed in some RCA 6AS7G for extra bass and Sylvania 6SJ7s and it sounds great!
The Meze are not piercing at all on the highs. Don’t know about the 380’s I have the 280’s and I wouldn’t classify them as bright but more neutral.
@MTMECraig dont know why they did but I like the Walnut myself.

Aeon Cs if you got a good deal.
