There is a statement amp being designed to go with the statement DAC (it will actually be offered as either SS or tubed, so almost like 2 statement amps).

Jason's stated before that it's fine to stack them with the included feet as long as the amp's on top, I do so with my Bifrost and Asgard and have had no issues. Both my Bifrost and Asgard came with the little stick-on feet, sounds like a mistake that your Bifrost did not.

We'll see if the SS vs tube amp sounds any different first.

Plenty of people here including myself stack Bifrost and Lyr. I can't honestly say the Lyr runs any hotter whether it's stacked or not. The Bifrost certainly feels warmer when stacked
because it's dissipating heat. My Bifrost also didn't come with feet, after contacting Jason he immediately sent out a pair. So ask him!

Sweeet.. I suppose its my fault for not reading enough (and i did a lot of reading). I also stack them, however, I do feel there will be better cooling if I put some cones between them. I'LL probably order these cones cos they seem reasonably priced, not sure if they are any good though. They will certainly help cooling and slightly reduce vibration going to the tubes from my hand-drumming on the desk

. Btw, I got my Schiit gear second hand (very lightly used) so I wasnt sure if the Bifrost is supposed to have legs anyway. From what I saw in Dubai Audio Centre when I was auditioning them, the Bifrost didnt have any.

Can you guys recommend another reasonably priced but better option for cones? I also plan on getting some socket savers and tube dampers. What would the Schiit guys make of that? Is it normally recommendable?

Hey all,

Well, I was hoping to say we'd be shipping Mjolnir tomorrow (we have tons of finished boards waiting for nothing but bottom chassis), but it looks like the weather caught the plater out. It's been 105-110 degrees here, and the parts we got back are significantly different color than the top chassis. Sorry for the ongoing delays, but the good news is that not many parts ended up like this, the plater understands the problem, and I believe we'll be able to get this sorted next week. I've updated the website to reflect this.

All the best,
Jason

I personally think it looks very appropriate but it doesnt really help with cooling and damping. I will definitely buy some cones to stop vibration going to the tubes and also to separate the Lyr too cool it down easily.

Wouldn't be concerned with the heat from a DAC sinking into the amp   Also unless you plan on punching your amp from time to time, tube vibration shouldn't be an issue.

Now putting the Asgard or Mjolnir on the bottom... /facepalm

Heat from he DAC? No no.. I meant heat from the Lyr going to the bifrost...

When I run my Mullards, there is a huge amount of heat (slightly more than the Teslas). I would say.. 75-80 centigrade.

It would help dramatically to cool the amp itself if its not stuck on top of the Bifrost, because of the added space between them. I was for some time concerned if it might damage the DAC.. but its not THAT hot and the chassis reduces the slightly. However I wanna be comfortable with the safety of my gear. Besides, Im getting legs for my Bifrost anyway, why not add better below the Lyr as well.

Quick update: metal is in-house for the Mjolnir bottom panel, and it looks good! We're beginning assembly now--which means we ship next week, after testing, burn-in, etc . . .

Has anyone heard any updates on Gungjir, and whether it's still slated for August? I know the Mjolnir has been shipping for awhile. I got a peek at one his weekend. The chasis looks even sleeker in person.

Still slated for August, but it will just squeak in, it looks like. We're not going to announce orders until we actually have stock--new policy thanks to the Mjolnir.
