Hello,

Can someone recommend a NAS drive that has USB ports? I had a ED MyBook Live that took forever to copy & paste media to and was buggy?

Thanks !

Most USB based NAS are not this good: buy some more pro

I work with a bunch of NAS professionals they love Synology's NAS (except ot the USB stations -they are not this good!)

Somehow cheaper and with a lot of nice audio server features (like a build in server for Logitech's Squeezebox): Netgear ReadyNAS duo V2

Synology's NAS solutions are great NAS but generally cost a arm and leg(to me)
Buffalo's NAS has good performance for the price but user interface sucks for stuff like the linkstation series. Cloudstation is better but less flexible in functionality.

There not much that can be done about the speed. If you consider that the throughput of the disk inside the case is the slowest thing in any computer/network. If you want to gain speed you would need to go for a raid system or SSD and even there the USB connection is not the best for the job. But even if your new equipment can take 100MB/sec your old one probably can T output such speed. (edit:format and extra though)
