How good is the dac compared to hugo 2? I would connect my tv to it. I saw i had the choice to add hdmi arc with hugo 2 i use optical from tv.

Hugo 2 can sound very clean and detailed. But also have sibilance in voices often. HD800S could be the fault there. But also low quality from streaming services like netflix. Mandalorian on disney+ sounds great though so it depends on the quality in many times. Streamerd should support Dolby atmos imo sounds great in my experience with apple tv 4k.

I’ve played with an Audiolab 6000CDT hooked up to mine via SPDIF for CDs. Works and sounds great. I mostly just use Roon, though.

Think just for usb cards with data on it. For phone, pc, or dac, you’d have to use a usb to coaxial converter or if any have optical. Unit not really meant to be hooked up directly to a source.

It’s not meant to connect to the phone other than be used as controller for streaming app like roon, Naim app, using chromecast, Tidal Connect, Airplay. But I’ve connected an iPad with the usb-c port into usb to coaxial converter and got that to work just fine. But then miss out on album art and playback controls on the remote.

The Naim is a 3 in 1, which includes the streamer. If you just plan to use your phone as the streamer, a 2 in 1 like a mojo 2 might be better.

Yes, its not bad overall.

I have the Uniti Atom HDMI, the Atom HE, Nova, and NDX2. Kind of a Naim fanboy. Rich, dynamic sound.

The biggest weakness in the Atom "headphone edition" ironically is the headphone amplifier. Its *fine* for most cans, but its kinda weak. Its the same with the TT2. Its "fine" but not wonderful. What you end up missing is the "power" sound. When using only the Atom, it will sound good, but the volume needs to be much louder, and you can sense a "thinness" after hearing it with a dedicated amplifier. Works much better when you use an external amp, such as GSX mini. Personally, I found the Enleum 23r to be the best pairing with the Atom. Even over the Niimbus. The Niimbus worked and sounded much better with Dave.

I also tried feeding it with a Lumin, and I didn't notice any improvements.

You mean you fed Lumin to naim uniti digital in? Or was it analogue rca out from Lumin to Naim?
