I like HP50. Comfort is fine, decent isolation. Using them on a bus now and not raising the volume. I thought about getting the PM-3 but these sound great and not interested in spending $400 for commuting portable.

If it fits, it's a great phone. Wonder how much the NAD would cost if it would have the Oppo's or Sennheiser's or HiFiMAN's or AKG's headband.

The PSB M4U's design is comfortable, it just not big enough for bigger heads.

Has there been any word lately on Paul Barton's next headphone?

Is anyone even sure that they are working on a successor to the HP50/M41U?

In one of his interviews he hinted on one. Haven't read or seen any word on it now though. I'm definitely looking forward to that.

in one of his interviews, Paul Barton mentionned that they are working on headphones that put the sound "outside" the head.... and at a reasonable price with regards to the product... hopefully something should come out this year... Am really looking forward to this. I like very much his approach towards product development... roomFeel and now this...
Please hurry up Paul and team! :p

Just fix the HP50 headband (longer and curvier) and make the earpads bit bigger, that will attract lot of people.

Even without the bigger ear pads will make me extremely happy.

And headband thinner and wider, I don't care if it's plastic.

I found the M4U2 to be heavy personally.

Doesn't have to be thicker like the M4Us. Just bigger to fit bigger heads, and thinner and wider for comfort.

The HP50 doesn't need an amp. With an amp it will improve the sound a little, but not a lot. It was designed to work when played out of mobile phones...

Precisely. Not only is HP50 engineered to be efficient to be played back from mobile devices, several reliable sources (as my memory serves correctly) noted that the sound quality will stay fairly consistent regardless of amp.

Naturally however, better quality source of amp (dedicated amp vs onboard notebook amp) will provide less distortion. Therefore, greatest difference will be presented through the source material of the music (lossless files) and DAC.
