Nad D Range

I bought a Logitech Harmony 700 remote control and it works well with Nad N1050. The setup was very easy. Just connect Harmony 700 to your computer and go to My Harmony web site and select NAD and select "Nad d1050" from the drop down box and it's done. The Harmony control shows all d1050 as Nad Amp on its LCD screen. It controls power up and down and all of its individual inputs as well.

I also used the Harmony to disable d1050's auto power off function.

Does anyone know what the best way to get the finger prints off this without damaging the surface/coating... The rubberised stuff they used looks nice but is a huge finger print and dirt magnet.

Has anyone here tried using speaker taps on the D3020 or D7050 with headphones?

Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between North America and European models for NAD D 7050? I downloaded the v1.64 firmware file in zip format. There are two firmwares for North America and European respectively. So I'm not sure which one to use.

How much can you move the volume control on your D1050, not turning it to change the volume but wiggling the knob... does it move about 1-2mm if you wiggle it? Is that normal ?

I asked NAD about the power of the headphone amp, I got this reply if anyone is interested, it is quite a powerful amp with low impedance headphones, not as good for high impedance...

Maximum Power, 32 ohms: 1.2W RMS per channel
Maximum Power, 50 ohms: 0.80 RMS per channel
Maximum Power, 300 ohms: 145mW RMS per channel
Maximum Power, 600 ohms: 100mW RMS per channel

That means I am getting about 1w with my 46ohm Shure 1540's it does sound powerful and more than loud enough.

Nice! I believe those numbers, because with my 32 ohm Grado 'phones, the sound is beautiful and if you crank it up it will knock out your fillings.

I went to a meet a few months ago, took my NAD D 1050 along, and demoed a set of Grado GS1000e and it was the best sounding combo I'd heard to that point. A fantastic match with Grado cans.

I've been posting on the Hope VI thread and I'm gonna ask here too.

Been researching quite a lot and my priority is making this headphone sounds the best and maybe... just maybe improve my corsair SP2500 (yeah not even bookshelf but meh)

Should I just go for 7050 or 1050 for the best headphone setup ? I would prefer spending less but if the improvement is quite significant then I guess I gotta bleed out my wallet more.

I find the D1050 is the best sounding thing I have used with headphones, if your headphones are under 150ohm should be ideal, unless you want bright and super detailed.

Hello everyone!
Can share native firmware. Using HIDBootLoader I kept the native firmware. Sorry for my English, I from Russia. Interesting differences: version 2.7 to 100kb. Native (really don't know what version...) weighs 460kb !

Hi all!
I had the opportunity to listen to the old firmware and new. After you save the old firmware, put a new-2.7. Include d1050. The first thing you notice at high frequencies became more detailed. Today listening to many hours. Concluded That works on the simple type vocals and the trio, all sounds good. But on chamber orchestras complex works detail and localization of musical instruments is deteriorating. The emphasis on high frequencies lubricates(sand) other frequencies. In General returned everything as it was.

Hi,
I got a bit lost in your answer - which firmware was better for classical?

Also, could someone compare the headphone amps of 1050 vs 3020 vs 7050?

Thanks!
