SinglePower and Ray are both great amp builders but I do get them confused at times, especially since I do not know them personally.

Mikhail is the tall skinny guy with the continuous bad hair day.
Although nothing is for sure, the chances of mikhail actually using
a switcher in any of his home amplifiers is close to zero.

Ray is the short and pleasingly plump guy with much less hair

He has been using switchers for the filament supplies ever since
the Stealth.

It seems that the Ultrazone has caused more "damage" (e.g. getting rid of the W5000) than expected.

Age may have something to do with it...

Mikhail's name is the name that I had lost.

But I don't think "getting rid of the W5000" was a mistake on my part.

Let us get back onto the subject. Don't let my stupidity take away from the experience of the OP.

Gorgeous amp, I actually kind of like the non-stacked PSU, but I have to ask, who actually has 54K?

Wait what, 54 grande?!

Anyhow, impressive amp you have there. Congrats.

I think your PSU is the first upgrade of the PSU upgrade that Mikhail has for the ES-1. The second upgraded is for the small while the third is for the large piltron transformers. I believe the large piltrons are 1.7K option.

Nice amp. Looks like with the power tubes can be biased so you should be able to use a number of different types from the Kt88 to 6550 and so on. Your input tubes are not matched though. Different construction and time of build.
