They replied that they do produce 110V version. You just need to tell them yr requirement. Using my MS2i , RS1 and ER4S.. i didn't hear the hum when powering up..

For the 708A, I liked the Amperex 5670 as the gain tube, and RSD PCC88's on the outputs. I tried using some "best of class" tubes, such as Western Electric 396A's as drivers, and Telefunken PCC88's on outputs, but the sound never cohered properly. If you drill a hole in the top of the case, and rewire the rectifier socket, you can use a Mullard 6X4 (IIRC) as the rectifier. Someone else has posted on this, but I'm too lazy to search

Is this essentially a MJ based amplifier?

You want warm, this is the amp for you

Not only sonically, but in the winter it will heat a small room

Warmth is what everyone is pointing out with this one, what about other qualities? It does look like a very good deal at this price, how does it compare to any other amps, like Ming Da or Woo3 for instance, which are also warm sounding?

Althought i have just upgrade to the Cayin HA-1A.. i would still maintain that the 708B do kick some serious as5 compare to the Cayin. The 708B does has a narrower soundstage..

Only after rolling the Input and driver tubes of the Cayin, then will it soar above the 708B..
