I'm working on a similar collection

I'm going to specialize
only in
low-end Grados
and I'm going to charge
$1 for people to see pictures of them

pictures I stole from Amazon.com

This is more impressive than the headphone collection.

Words fail me.....

I wonder if this is a World Record of sorts? Its kinda hard to imagine someone out there with en even BIGGER collection!

And WertherDVX, why is the ambulabnce at your door? U ok? You got ahernia lifting all your headphones? I hope all is well...

Im sure the advent of the internet made a collection that huge possible... I reckon it would be a hundred times ahrder to amass a collection of that size without ebay and other online sources

Hi Reorx,

yes,

you are right:

if I had not access to the Net,
surely I wouldn't be able
not only to find and to buy them,
but to know they existed too.

Indeed, the only High-End can I've seen personally
was the Sony MDR-R10 The King
at an Hi-Fi exhibition in Milano in the 1989:
I was really amazed, but I had not enough money to get them.

Without Head-Fi I wouldn't know, for example, the entire ATH-Woodies collection or the Grado line.

eBay is fantastic too, because it permits myself to purchase headphones all around the world with a simple click:
bethink I go out of my home very rarely,
I sleep all the day and I'm awake through the night,
always in front of my computers.

Now you can understand why I'm speaking of psychiatric ambulances.

My goodness! The MEHM now has 218 pairs of headphones on display. Can I get a free "day pass" to visit your museum? It's in Italy, I presume. I've never been there and this would give me a good (err... poor) excuse to make the trip.

Luca was nice enough to send me a PM wishing me a Happy Easter, and in our PM exchange I've learned that his headphone museum is still growing! In his profile, the list is about 340 long. Apparently he needs to update it again. See here: Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio - View Profile: WertherDVX

Here's what he said in his PM:

"Thanks for your invitation, Wayne, [the invitation was to CanJam '08] but, right now, I'm spending all the money I can find in vintage headphones.

To date I'm at 360 and I'm still thinking to send them online with pictures.

Cheers.

Luca"

I continue to be amazed, and am quite frankly in complete awe! I've got maybe 35 or 40 pairs or headphones, a mere 10% of his collection! If he ever decides to get into electrostats, there simply will be no limit (not that there is one now).

If he collects 5 more pairs he'll have one pair for every day of the year! Wow...
