dude,
you are entitled to your opinion but you are a donkey for expressing them..
that kind of thinking is backwards....as other people have already stated no one asks to be a victim...will others be more tempting...yes....can u do things to decrease your risk...yes..but someone comes here to commiserate and the first thing out of your pie-hole is that it is her fault? what the heck is that?
obviously, she knows she could/should of locked her door, taken the ipod with her but after reading your post i was so taken aback by your utter lack of sensitivity and callousness...we have all been there before of losing something that was precious to us and the last thing we need is a self-righteous pontificating donkey like you rubbing it in....

Talk about the christmas Grinch. Sorry to hear about your loss, I have friends who had their car broken into while leaving it unlocked to run into their home to get something. They came back only to find out that their cds, loose change and anything else of value gone. Having heard first hand of what had happen to them, I don't take any chances anymore and lock my car even if I'm going to leave it for short while. It may be a hassle to lock up your car if you only plan to leave it for 15 minutes or less but after what had happened better safe than sorry.

No, it's not a bit much. If she locked her doors she would not have been robbed.

It's common sense to lock your doors which prevents a thief from opening them and stealing your belongings.

Seriously aeriyn, I am sorry to hear of your loss. After all the Monday-morning quarterbacking, and the lessons learned, the feeling of being violated is not easy to shake. I hope this does not ruin your holiday season, and affords you an opportunity to upgrade, as others have suggested (the E3's aren't that great anyway, imo

Im sorry i'd love to help someone out specialy during the holidays. But it seems she has $200 to spend on a used Cambridge CD player according to her post in the for sale sorce component thread.Note the thread was posted about 3 mins after this one.If i recall you can get the shure ec3's for about $180 which still leaves her $20 towards future DR Pepper purchases.

Man that's too bad

Even though you didn't lock your doors, it's unfortunate it had to happen when you were just running in the gas station for some quick items.

Anyways, I hope Head-Fi is able to help make your holidays more enjoyable

Well, that was a bit rude..

Anyway.. it's definately not her fault for leaving the car door unlocked. It was what, 3 minutes? hugz made a very good point. It's sad what greed will do to people.

I'm going to have to agree, and whats with the issue with the word rape? It's a pretty valid comparison. You should be free to discuss whatever it is that you want within reason, and that comment was well within reason.

I'd just like to inform you that every bad thing that someone has done to you is your fault, because some way or another you could have avoided the situation

actually it happened while I was at home sleeping, so please the idea of home invasion and some headphones getting stolen are two total different things! and btw: I learned from my mistake and measures have been in place since then....

I had that money set aside to buy a new CDP. Actually, I don't really have that money yet until the pioneer dvd player sells. So, I don't really have all that money.

I can't buy new E3cs now because I just bought them. Less than a week ago. If I buy them again so close to time to pay rent, oiy that would just not be good.

I mean, I have money I just can't afford to buy another of the same item over again. you understand? It's not justified anymore. I'll replace them/get something else next month most likely.

T.T I didn't realize this would cause so much commotion. Don't make the mods move it outside.

The holiday season makes thieves more daring and reckless. I happened to be near a shopping mall, where this gas station was. If I wouldn't have tripped (thanks Jahn) I probably would've caught him. I swear history repeats itself; four months ago someone snatched a purse from this old lady walking beside me and I tried to chase him, but tripped and fell flat on my face coz I was in heels. x.x

No, my avatar is not me. =P It's a picture of Aikawa Nanase.

Edit: btw, I bumped my thread looking for a d500 a few minutes after this, because I've got a certain amount of fun money and that's what I had it set aside for was a new CDP, not to replace stolen buds. T.T Just fyi.
