Sorry about your loss, aeriyn.

A lot of us Head-Fiers have suffered much worse, even including having ENTIRE headphone rigs stolen from us. (Me? I've been very lucky so far, losing only an empty pouch that once held my Etymotic ER-4S's. Fortunately, I still have the Etys themselves - but no pouch.)

Well, I liked the E3cs but since I've only had them for less than a week and then they got stolen, I hadn't had time to really get attached to them yet, so maybe time without them won't be so bad. XD

I worry about that, about my home stuff getting stolen, about coming home one day and finding the entire apartment cleaned out. It happens a lot! But I always lock the doors to my apartment, always.

since you could not take a extra half second to lock your doors then really its your fault.

just think the punk probably threw them out in the thrash shortly after thinking they were nothing to be worth anything.

LOL...thats kinda like saying Nicole deserved to be turned into a Pez Dispenser because she slept with Marcus Allen... I don't know who I pitty more at this moment.

sorry to hear this!!!. thats specifically why I opted to go for the gray (e3) version and not the e3c. At least that kid will be pissed off when he can't figure out how to get it into his ears properly. Plus it will probably sound like ass to him because it doesn't have the hyped up bass everyone loves.

should have at least used the tri-flange tips

he would have thought it was a torture device.

Ack! That's rough. You seem to live in a tough neighborhood...

Things like this make me feel fortunate for living in a rich suburb/rural small college environment. A lot of times I don't even lock the door to my room; it's like I'm living in Canada.

The most precious items that have been stolen from me have been graphing calculators (while I was in high school).

Sorry about your loss...AT LEAST he didn't get your ipod. Keep the good tunes rolling!

Ha i didn't know you had your house broken into. You should have installed an electric fence though

and bought a gaurd dog

and what are you doing sleeping with valuables in your house?! It's your fault for not taking protective measures as much as it's aeriyn's fault for her theft.

i'm done with this thread i think though. i hope you buy some nice replacements

Never had anything stolen, but I'm male and mean-looking, so people probably won't try to rob me at knife/gunpoint (and I go to Rutgers @ Newark). I did get a CD-pouch with 100 or so CD's stolen from my car, which really hurt, when you consider that most of these were rare, and only 10% were burnt - the rest were purchased. I've learned my lesson: 1) Don't leave anything unattended, especially in the car and 2) Don't carry around anything flagrantly, conspicuously expensive unless you're prepared to deal with getting robbed face to face.

That's nothing though, a friend of mine got his apartment raided at gunpoint. Luckily, no one was shot, but he got smacked with the butt of the pistol, getting him a concussion, and he lost $10k in electrical gear, $50k in cash, and $500k or so in drugs which just happened to be lying around

Guess he shouldn't have been a drug dealer

Lol, I have to say the same. Everyone on our floor knows each other very well, and since the door to our floor is electronically locked, not many other people come in. We leave our rooms wide open when we're not at class and bolted open while we're sleeping. Things are going to have to change huh?

Just for kick and grins, go back to the gas station and ask for the manager. Tell them the story. Ask them directly to pay for your Shures.

You were on their property when it occured. Perhaps out of guilt or a feeling of obligation, they may pony up.

If that option does not work, this option may. If the store is a national or local chain, write a letter and send it to the home office. I've done this type of thing before with good success.

Got nothing to loose.

Jim
