My Choral housed Chord Mscaler

Im running my link for some time now and had no single dropout since my last adjustment more than a week ago.

I never knew how intimide my HD800 can sound and yet wide open.. lots of HD800's were sold cause people found the soundstage too artificial. Now a artist can sing sitting beside me touching my ear.. its so scary real I got shivers sometimes.

MDave without RF is increddible dynamic and harsch free i could even take my SDR mods out.. this 6k trebble spike that HD800 1st gen is known for dont harm anymore.

Lol im also itching to try other Hp's. I have heard so few

Its time to install my PCB.

Placed over the transmitters and mounted.
Fired it up and playing. This means my design has the right track connections.

I noticed it needs the same critical adjusting as the test PCB.. listening sessions are ahead to tune it👂

I found the right setting playing flawlessly for hours now switching between 705.6 and 768.

It seemed i could reduce the TX led current quite alot (R2&R3 to 100ohm) making it even more efficient.

How does the board sound compared to your first version?

Actually i hear no change. Both make the link RF free.

But i once connected the coax again to hear the difference.. that was easily noticable in more sharp sounding

By a request i made a design change on the housing to match Dave's looks even more..
Since i drawed Dave after i designed the scaler i found out how it is used balls, cilinders en egg forms to mold Dave's appearance.

So i took my scaler's top part and removed the caving and button holes, and created a cilinder with ball shaped sides and flattened on the length side.

After playing with the size i came to this form:
Cilinder cutout.jpg

I had to position it carefully to let the buttons stick through the flat side:
Cilinder cutout 3.jpg

So subtracted from the top form got me the caving
Cilinder cutout 2.jpg

The buttons have a cave detail too which i substracted using sinked positioned balls:
ball button cutout.jpg

Now subtract the button cones themselves to create the holes
ball button cutout 2.jpg

Now put the pieces together and my housing v2 is ready to be rendered to see how it looks.

Round chamfered corners instead of flat cornered:
HMS v2 c.jpg

Ofcourse lets see with Dave on top:
DAVE + HMS v2.jpg

Housing v1 versus v2.. which one looks better?
HMS v1 vs v2.jpg

A new CNC production can start lol 😉
