Wipeout HD
Virtua Fighter 5
Super Starstrike HD
Gran Turismo 5 prologue
NHL 09
Heavenly sword (IF its really cheap. or rent it)
Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan (if you can speak japanese. its the "Yakuza" series, set in Edo period Kyoto, and is excellent hopefully it will actually get a US release...)
Disgaea 3 (its a strategy RPG, like final fantasy tactics.. dunno if thats out for you as well).
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD remix (it looks like crap, but plays great).

I played Resistance. It gave me nausea. Plus I suck so bad at playing FPS using a controller. It's a crime. FPS should always be played with a mouse, not a darn controller.
I am waiting for Final Fantasy.
And why there is no Reel Fishing IV or something on PS3? I love Reel Fishing series.

Can you (or anyone else with experience) comment more on this please. I have both systems and had planned to get it for PS3. What's the difference?

If you want the storyline then get that pack that has all of the Metal games together. It's a cheap buy, for 20 you get 3 games?

and a PS2 to play them... since if he bought his PS3 new it's likely one without PS2 backwards compatibility

Fortunately, I have a PS1, a PS2 and of course a PS3

I'll check the MGS series out.

The Burnout series is easily the best set of racing games to ever come out.

But yeah, Resistance 2 is amazing, so play both 1 and 2. Get Assassin's Creed also. That's a good game.

I'd disagree on Assassin's Creed, the gameplay is so repetitive and simple that it can't even be considered a poor man's Hitman. You don't even technically need to assassinate anyone, just take em out in public then head for the rooftops.
