Very interesting to read that the V90-HPA amp section is "ok".
So it could be partnered with the V90-DAC to produce both a better solution. That gives a good migration path. Hmmm... could be by design
 
As to lock loss, could be anything from a faulty unit to laptop/pc issue re drivers/power-saving/etc.
 
 
EU regs require SMPS rather than Linear PSU in line with eco legislation. However it IS an easy thing to change rather than shipping better and compromising elsewhere.

@sebajun   Thanks for the response and link. I have not had any 'hiss' issues with the amp either! Overall I like the device very much and so I will be trying out a linear PSU sometime soon.

Hi ianeith, I just recently came across your picture of the V90 bump. How do you like your setup? Is there improvement in sound from using the V90-DAC vs using V90-HPA by itself? Is the improvement significant?
