The forum is full of topics regarding the pros and cons of both IEMs,
however the discussions are based on listening to music. I wonder
what happens if we add to the equation movies and games.... which
one of the them would best fit the term "universal" earbud?

I own both.  Both are great.  I've been watching Netflix movies on my iPhone and both are great for it.  I actually prefer my Monster Golds for movies.

Just my opinion, but when you get into a quality high end speaker, it's all just opinion.  Get what you enjoy.  No one is, "right".

joesuburb, thanks for your honest answer.

However I wonder does the wider soundstage of IE8 gives better
experience to the listener when watching movies or playing games?

What about the better clarity of the mids that MTPC provide?

And if we add the fact that I mostly listen to 90's, house, dance, classic,
and older stuff, which one would you recommend overall?

I actually dont even notice sound stage for movies. To me, the thing I enjoy is not fighting to hear vocals and a nice thump when stuff blows up.  If I had to choose one of the 3 IEMs I use daily for movies, I'd choose Monster Golds.  Between the Coppers and the IE8s, I'd choose the Coppers, but you can't go wrong.

To be honest, the #1 reason I would say go with Coppers, would be the crappy tips that come with the IE8.  The Coppers come with fantastic tips, the IE8s are horrid.  But, you can always buy a Monster supertip sampler pack.

Really, you are choosing between 2 fantastic IEMs.  You can't make a bad choice, but I'd get the Coppers.
