I know, now what can I sell, who needs to eat ...

Eating is overrated, plus if you crank up the volume, you will not hear your stomach growl.

Pricejapan is legit and where many current DP-X1 owners have purchased their unit. The warranty deal is if you need service you need to ship it back to Pricejapan and they will forward it to Onkyo. The price is also legit.

Which food do you find makes the Ether C sound better? Maybe food that starts with a "C"?

The Onkyo USA site says they are now available for purchase for a msrp of $799. Amazon had it listed for all of five minutes before the listing changed. Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Third one down on the list. $799.00

Ahh, ok. Well Onkyo is selling it on amazon for $799, but the Onkyo web site still states the MSRP is $899. I know, stupid. Many manufacturers don't follow their own MSRP, or just us it as a sales tactic.

hey has anyone tried the toilet paper mod here?

I don;t have the 1.1 foam yet, but taking one of the white pieces from behind the pads and replacing it with one sheet of 2 ply tp and throw in one black tuning pad, increased the detail, stage and imaging while being less peaky and gave a overall thicker and bassier sound.

Wipe that idea from your mind!

Come on, so many related jokes!

Hey I'm now on the fence on whether I should get the MoJo and sell my CA DAC Magic Plus OR just add a Lyr 2 with LISTT + Tubes to go along with the DAC Magic Plus.

What would be the better option for a desktop setup?

(Oh and this would be for the Ether C and HD600)

I think that's where I got confused over the price because I saw it on Amazon.

I got my DP-X1 via a grey import form HK to down under. Lucky we don't pay any tax for stuff under A$1,000! Ended up around US$560 for it, including delivery. At that price, it is a steal. That is good news, showing there's quite a lot of fat in the RRP.
I have been using it daily since the end of January and I have to say, this is a solid and versatile DAP. Thinking about buying Ether Cs but right now I'm happy with listening to my Flare R2Pros, Oppo PM-3 and TH-X00s driven by DP-X1 and Chord Mojo. Not a big fan of listening music at home so for now I'm struggling to justify expensive non-portable cans. Having said that, I'm itching to listen the Cs balanced off the DP-X1...

May I ask where you purchased it from? I also live in AUS so I am very interested in that deal.

Just be mindful that it takes 48 hours to get it delivered from HK to Oz. Delivery is $19, so total price is just under $808
