Alessandro Music Series One

The Music Series Two is three times the price, for less than three times sound quality improvement. There have been mixed reviews regarding the Music Series Pro.

These AKGs (501, 271s) are really getting into love-hate relationships.

For some reason hd595 is 60% price of hd600 here in Denmark, CLOSE to buying them!

hd 595 and grado sr80 is actually same price here..

1. Beyerdynamic DT931/831 - these need some equipment matching (120-ohm headphone jack) or a cable mod, but these can easily sound better than more expensive Sennheisers, AKG's, and their Beyer brethren.

2. Etymotic ER4x - used to be well-appreciated, but now that there are more entries in the IEM market, they've slowed in popularity. IMO, they can produce some of the best sound available, even compared to much more expensive cans.

3. Koss Sportapros - for some reason, these seem to be the step-children of the Koss 60-ohm lineup, despite them having the same drivers as the Portapro's & KSC35's. - go figure *shrug*. They are the best bargain of the line at under US$20, and have a convertible headband - very convenient!

No one sells the sr-40 at the momemt. Though a revised version appears to be in the works.

And yes, the ksc-35 does sound that good.

All in all, the Creative HQ-1300, I'd say... Suprisingly good for ~ 25 Euro. But I'd also agree to the AKG K501 and the Philips HP890. And the Beyerdynamic DT440 also seems fairly attractive to me, since one can get it for ~ 70 Euro.

How can the MS-1 or SR-225 be underrated for their price? Those are headphones frequently praised around here. They may be a great value for their price, but underrated they aren't.

Although some people love them, I feel the SR80 is underrated at its price point for the fun factor. But not necessarily that underrated for its technical proficiency.

The only Grado headphone that deserves to be considered underated is the RS-2. Pretty close to the sound quality of the RS-1 (and look at the specs! VERY similar!) and a much cheaper price.

And no, the entire HD5x5 series sucks, it just does - it's overated AND it's overpriced. Go figure.

So how do you explain that (just for an example) there are people here who own the HD595 as well as the HD650 and say they enjoy them both equally?!
(I'm not one of them, I couldn't be because I 'only' have the 650 at my disposal)
I'm just curious.

The radio shack version of the KTXPro1... No one EVER recommends that one. RS had them on sale for $19

Hello there, O WiseOne, =)

Please search "595" and "GSferrari", better yet using advance search, and you'll find one respected headfi member who love 650 so much and hate 595 to the bone. He's just lucky I'm not a mod or anything.
