Most glorious female voice ever?

Bjork probably tops my list. So expressive, she can express every little nuance of emotion, or blow her voice up huge! Just amazing!

Others I consider...
Dinah Washington, Beth Gibbons, Julie Andrews (duh!), Stina Nordenstam, Lætitia Sadier, and many others I just can't think of!

Corey Day from Dr.Buzzards Original Savanna band.
Chaka Khan you want a Diva there you go?
Flora Purim brazil in jazz rock fusion.
Nina Simone owns nuanced and heart.
Doris mother Fn Day a voice like a bell.
Frazey Ford from the be good tanyas I think has just a great voice.
Amy Winehouse is pretty glorious in my headphones

Uhh Loleatta Holloway "hit and run" I'll just stop now

I can't believe no one has mentioned:

PATTY GRIFFIN

Possesses both a powerhouse and a sublimely melancholy voice. Her albums are all absolute gems.

Six pages and no Sarah Vaughn? I am going to assume that everybody figured she was already on here somewhere. They didn't call her "Divine" for nothing. Ok, ok, I'll calm down.

Lots of other great suggestions, though. No fault there (except Celine - no can do).
