most comfortable over time

AKG K701. I think they need new pads, though.

Ever since I repaired my HD580s, the new headband is a little tight.

Try cans with velour pads and find the one fitting your head best yourself...

Vice-like grip not for me hey.

The Audio Technica AD series hands down for comfort.
There have been times where I've forgot I had them on.

You cannot get more comfortable than the Audio Technica AD series.

I love my K501s, even more than my PL2500s. They're extremely light, self-adjusting, and have a balljoint-type swivel instead of the normal x-axis found on most headphones.

Only thing I don't like about the pads is that they tend to squeak when I move because of my glasses. $50 for 701 pads is just a bit too expensive for me, though.

My A900s get pretty sweaty after 3 or 4 hours.

I've worn 580s/650s for numerous 10 hour stints, after a while I forget I'm wearing them.
If they weren't hardwired to my PC, I'd forget to take them off.

STAX OII is a good contender for this.

I'm with you on this one too, once they are fully expanded. If they aren't stretched out they won't be as comfy.

Haven't tried many, but HD600 is the best I've used.
