I'm lookin for the most comfortable around the year closed full size headphones. Sound quality is not a priority, they can sound average or even sub average, but they need to be very comfortable and should not cause any pain or discomfort even after long sessions.

Noise cancelling is a + although not a requirement. They ought to isolate atleast a fair amount which is why I am looking for closed headphones.

Price point less than 200 preferably. And pls dont recommend QC2.

PS : These arent for me, they'r for my dad

If you want to go really cheap... a Sony MDR-V6 ($70) then buy the Beyerdynamic DT250 velour pads ($20). That's under $100.

The inexpensive Senn HD201 is worth considering. It's very comfortable: quite lightweight, and not much clamping force. The sound is better-than-you'd-expect if you can drive it with an amp or a reasonably strong source. Isolation is pretty low, however.

I would also give the Audio-Technica A900 and its siblings very high marks for comfort, with the proviso that it can get a bit warm inside them. I need to take them off and let the sweat dry off at least every hour or so. But that said, the comfort level is very high for that amount of sheer headphone, and they have pretty good isolation.

all those cheap closed sennheisers are pretty comfy, like the HD205 or the many semi-circumaural ones like HD202, HD212, and EH150/250/350. None are fabulous, but they'll all get the job done for way below $100, some as little as $20 or so.

But wait, what am I saying? Have some head-fi decency and at least get the old gent those V6 with the beyer velour pads.

The Audio Technica ATH-A models are pretty comfy. I have a pair of ATH-A500s several hours with them on doesn't even phase me. The A900s would be even more amazing within the price range.

My favorite closed cans in that range are the Sennheiser HD 280 Pros, which can be comfortable if your head is not too big (otherwise they really clamp down).

yup I agree, the hd280s are very comfortable. I do have a big head, but even then it's great. My hd650s also feel great! but i haven't too much else.

do we hang him now. . or give him a chance to run, then hang him?

jokes aside, I need to find a head-fi meet in my area, as i really really want to hear a nice closed headphone (before i shell out money).

oh well, i'll have to play it safe and stick to my grados till them

Audio-Technica Ax00s or Beyerdynamic DT770/880/990s.

Ultimately it just comes down to pleather (Ax00s) versus velour (DTxx0s).
