Hello guys, I have been troubled by a decision these days and cant settle between the  ATH-M50 with the coiled cable and the Grado SR80i.
The ATH-M50 is extremely well rated, however looks like it was designed by an alien, however the Grado looks simplistic and good, however it apparently leaks sound and doesn't handle bass as well as the M50. 
 
For me, I listen mostly to songs like these:

I currently own the HD 380's with a small amp, but use them rarely in the house because of the comfort level after some time. I'm looking for something that doesn't fully cover the ear, so that it can breathe, especially when I'm going on a trip to Hawaii soon with the plane ride.
 
My most important criteria is something that can provide me with long usage times, and that matches with my genre choice. 
Any bro's willing to help this lost newb out?

Look into a used set of Denon AH-D2000.  Its sound signature will fit your musical taste.  The old Denon AH-D range are classics.  You can probably sell them for the same price you bought them for later on.  Or even get the itch to mod them like so many of us do.  I worked with Lawton Audio on my set of D5000s.

there is absolutely no way he can get them for under 200, lol. They sell for around 600 now, because of the limited number in circulation.

I have a pair of AH D210's and I agree they sound great (for the price) and the sound signature works very well for OP's genres.
 
EDIT: wow there aren't any of them posted on ebay or amazon atm.  iirc I saw them on there for pretty cheap before (obviously way under his budget)

Might want to hit this seller up to see if it's still available.  I can definitely recommend the D2000 as well.  I've owned over 40 pairs of headphones throughout the years, and to this day the D2000 is possibly my all time favorite headphone (so much that I bought it a 2nd time after selling it before).

P.S. I have a Senn HD380pro with an amp for the short but enjoyable usage times but I'm focusing on something like the Yamaha someone suggested that looks great, is small and can deliver some good SQ while I can wear them all day for work/music/browsing, even If it isn't playing anything all the time .
