I am looking for a new set of earphones and I came across a set of these for $132.50. Is worth it for listening using iPod Touch 4G with a mix of iTunes plus and ALAC music? I listen to mainstream pop, rock, hip hop, jazz, classical, vocal, soundtrack, and mostly every other genre out there. I like bass but not too overpowering and my ears are very sensitive to high range frequencies.

This is where I found them (I bid on it and won for the price of $132.50 free shipping): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280594660940&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Is it legit?

the coppers are supposed to be very good IEMs, but for $132, those are probably fake

I wouldn't pass that steal up. IMO it would be perfect for the sound your looking for. It takes some burn in for them to get to there full potential. At that price you cant go wrong and the warranty is excellent. I use to own them and to this day there still one of my faves. I'm a Balanced Armature junky so thats why i currently own the Earsonics Sm3. Cheers

Thanks :)

It's this from eBay. The seller seems to have good ratings. But just out of curiosity how would you tell if it were fake?

usually, the telltale sign is the mesh over the opening of the IEMs. on the real ones, the mesh bubbles up a little, while on the fakes the mesh dips a little.  I personally wouldnt buy any monster products from anyone on e-bay unless they have the "monster authorized seller" sticker on their page.

AFAIK the lowest they've been legitimately is $200 and that was in the infamous Dell deal that my pair came from, right in the very beginning of the Copper's history on Head-Fi. Make sure that they are coming from an authorized dealer, because I highly doubt that those would be legit. If you want, you could post the link so we can help you establish whether the source is legitimate or not.

If it was a bid, that makes more sense. You may have just gotten lucky and found a legit set. At the very least the seller accepts returns, albeit unopened only.

If those are too risky...what about these? http://cgi.ebay.com/Monster-Turbine-Pro-Copper-In-Ear-Headphones-Brand-New-/250732789633?pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item3a60d6bf81 A little bit more expensive, but they are from a top rated seller shipping from the US.?
