Monster turbine gold fake or real?

Yea, mine look exactly like they should in terms of those groves. Maybe Monster changed the mesh in their product or something. Does anyone know if the fakes have been updated to be even more legit, or if there are multiple types of fakes made by multiple companies?

Are you sure about the mesh thing? I bought Coppers about a year ago they sound like Coppers but have no bubbled mesh as seen in this photo. http://www.flickr.com/photos/zedd_01/4984483191/in/set-72157624943782258/
I am starting to doubt my purchase, but I am also quite confident my MTPC are real. Other than the mesh, my boxing, packaging, cuts in the earbud themselves, and jack adapter are all identical seen as in the "real" photos. I also bought from BuyAuthorized(http://cgi.ebay.com/MONSTER-TURBINE-PRO-IN-EAR-EARPHONES-COPPER-EDITION-/230596107240?pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item35b0995be8#ht_2199wt_910) a reputable Ebay dealer with 100% positive feedback. The dealer offers the Monster Lifetime Warranty as well. How can I prove if these are real or fake?

I think there should be a serial number somewhere.

Found the Pro Coppers direct from Amazon.com for $226 (not $215) here or the Pro Golds, again direct from Amazon.com, for $153.

I don't really keep up with any US prices but comparing them to UK prices, they look extremely cheap.

Honestly, I cant shoot you a straight answer because monster tends to change design and packaging throughout the cycle of a products life; it may be possible they were once manufactured that way.
Before I made the initial investment, I decided to buy a $30 pair of fakes to save me from the disparity of being duped by someone; I'll admit, they sound really good for what they were($30 fakes), but they're nowhere near the real thing. The most obvious things I noticed about the fakes was the 100% shrinkwrap job, mesh inserts, and accessories(only 1 pair of supertips, and 1/4" jack was obviously a substitute from a parts store); otherwise the bud's themselves look pretty convincing.
If you're doubtful, give Monster a call and see if your seller is an authorized dealer. here's a good list to start from, although they may have omitted a few sellers.

Given that Amazon.com sells it at 225 USD currently, I would think you got a good price. Did you get yours from the Amazon Marketplace or Amazon.com itself? I have an MTPC from amazon.com and it is definitely not fake.

yes i got mine directly from amazon. It was $215 on the daily deals gold box. It was at the bottom of the page which said extra $11 off i think. Some said they have gotten the mtpc from $180 so i was wondering if $215 was a good price.
