Agree -- this amp is a bargain at $400 or so. $660 is high.
I notice they have 'open box' units for $419 (and I suppose 20% less than that), but that seems like a crap-shoot. Can't tell for sure, but I do not believe the open box units come with the full 5-year warranty. Those units should probably be called refurbished.

I hope this is for real and Monoprice has new production stock and will keep the Liquid Platinum in stock. A few weeks ago they declared the Liquid Platinum amp as discontinued rather than just out of stock. That has me worried about what's going on. What kind of games is Monoprice playing with stock and availability and future availability of this amp?
Oh, I got confused by the ‘is back’ part as I never noticed that the DAC was ‘out of stock’ like the amp was.
Same story about the discount though— DAC was below $450 a couple weeks ago. I had one in my ‘cart’ for about $385 with the discount. But then there was a different place to spend my money, so I never pulled the trigger.

Unfortunately nobody knows why it was discontinued. Maybe it was a part source issue, which got solved, or maybe Dr, Cavalli got involved and made some approvals. Just glad to see it available again, meaning if owners have any issues, replacements are available.
Decided to try out the SE port on a set of IEMs, and dug out my Master & Dynamics ME05 IEMs, and attached a 6mm adapter. The lowered power does work out well here, allowing the volume knob to have some room to play with, tho I dare not go past 11:00 as the IEMs started to get a little stressed. (About 10:00 sounded ideal) Otherwise, a solid performance, and the stock tuning mates very well with the Cavalli House Sound, and the presentation wasn't narrow sounding like IEMs can be.
I didn't care how the M&D sounded on my Asgard 3 in comparison.
NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. just received my LP today, played it for about an hour sounded pretty good right out of the box. shut it off for lunch ,come back to play and no sound. white light is on

Actually not so silly. I've had the LP for three years and more than once have spent ten or fifteen minutes frantically checking my connections and other variables when I had no sound before realizing I had inadvertently hit the the input selector.
