Looks fantastic, and hopefully it'll sound great as well. But the weight and price though. 700g? $599? Yikes. For that price and weight they have to be absolutely incredible or it ain't worth it.

I didn't find the M1060 to sound particularly/exceptionally good, personally. It was nice enough, but not exceptional at anything in particular (just decent overall across the spectrum). Will be interested to see if this model builds on the decent accomplishment the M1060 was and take the sound quality to the next level. I had read so much about the M1060 and M560, had them both on hand with great amplification and DACs and neither struck me as a decent price to performance ratio.

Edit: corrected typo plus modified things to not sound as negative which I didn't feel was fair.

Wait, you already heard the M1070? Didn't know they were available yet. How would you describe the sound compared to M1060?

Yikes, my bad, I had meant the M1060. I'll edit my original post. My apology.

Very interesting in finding out how these compare with the new 1070, as well as how both compare to the ol' 1060. I haven't heard the 1060 but I've sure seen reviews of it.
Monoprice is churning out new head-fi gear lately!
