New Head-Fier
I think less dark than an audeze, but I need to go to a local shop and A/B them.So would you say it sounds like an Audeze?

Is it a more complete sound than the m1060? or just a different sound?I got mine in yesterday and here are my first impressions
Build
- Headband has been comfortable and build seems good, the stock cable is actually quite nice. The stock cable is not as soft as a periapt etc... but is a non-issue
- Only weird build quality things are as follows: mini-xlr pinout may be nonstandard, one earcup has more friction/resistance to earcup rotation than the other side, you seem to be able to extend the earcups until they gets off track from the mechanism in the headband.
- Stock velour pads are not angled and much worse quality than the leather/protein leather ones pre-applied to the headphones.
- Stock spacing for the headband may be too wide for the heads of some, so some users may have to bend the top headband to get more clamping force on their ears and get a better seal.
- May be important! The mini-xlr pinout seems to be nonstandard, when I try the ZMF OFC Cable on my THX 788 AMP it triggers overcurrent protection, it remains to be seen if this persists with an actual balanced cable, but I assume this is the case.
Sound
- I have yet to find a flaw, these seem to be jacks of all trades but masters of none. Bass is well extended, but doesnt hit super hard like HE6-SE etc... but I imagine you could EQ it to do what you want. I haven't noticed any peaks or sibilance.
- Dynamics are actually pretty good for headphones at this price point.
- seems to follow the harman curve, with a bit less of a bass shelf.
- Imaging has been solid, and the soundstage was wider than I expected. The isolation is essentially non existent and the pads are quite wide so I imagine its the combination of those two things making that happen.
- Sound is slightly dark.
I am also intrigued to see how they do w/ more power, but IT appears I may have to get a pinout from monoprice and make a cable myself to do so.
Definitely more complete, I dont notice a mid/highs dip like with the 1060c/m1060.Is it a more complete sound than the m1060? or just a different sound?

May be a keeper, i still want to listen more and try them balanced etc... the velour pads seem to bring the vocals forward and lessen the soundstage/imaging accuracy. Is it a keeper for you? Have you tried the suede pads yet? If so, did it change the sound?
Pads attach over a lip like most other headphones, it kind of irked me when the m1060/1060C copied one of the worst characteristics of audeze. How are the earpads attached? I hate glued on earpads...

I had to RMA my he6-se due to my own error, my replacement is coming in tomorrow. Im gonna A/B them and be make the same decision. I don't like having multiple headphones and will be selecting one of the two.Which one do you prefer the 6se or the 1570? if you could only have one.
Those are the two cans I’m looking at.
Awesome, thanks for the reply. Let me know what you decide please!I had to RMA my he6-se due to my own error, my replacement is coming in tomorrow. Im gonna A/B them and be make the same decision. I don't like having multiple headphones and will be selecting one of the two.
These things are huge, barely clamps enough to stay on my head, enjoy them more than the Aeon2 closed which I returned already. SMSL M500 drives them beyond what I could ever listen to volume wise (22/40). Build is solid feeling but nothing spectacular. They are heavy but the weight doesn't bother me.

I loved the HE6SE on a THX788 w/ the oratory EQ. But yeah I killed my HE6SE by not checking the gain setting on the speaker amp I wanted to test on because Im a dummy. The HE6SE measurements say there should be no difference other than volume, but I wanted to try and hear the "magic" people talk about just once lol.I've had my trigger finger ready for the HE6Se but the more I read about them, the more wonder whether I'd really get all they can put out with even amps like the Drop THX 789 (which I just got in yesterday), it seems as if the HE6Se will really only become awesome with even more power... and now that the M1570 have been released, they have me very curious!
They look like a modern, easier to drive, big-sounding planar that I might just "need" to buy...
