Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions

How is the weight difference compared to the M1060, are they really lighter? Is it a perceivable difference?

I would like a good planar represented in my collection, and the M1060 has been okay, but definitely think the M1060C would fill the roll better.

No, they are NOT lighter than the opens. Quite a bit heavier in fact. Just happen to have a postal scale here. 1060s = ~465 grams (a little over a pound). 1060Cs = ~630 grams (1 lb 5 oz).

So they are heavy headphones by any standard.

I am a bit budget conscious so I have an IFI Nano iDSD BL that hopefully should compliment the M1060C pretty well.

Nano BL should have no problem powering these. I'm using them directly out of my Lg V20 with no issues and both the Schiit Fulla and Fiio E12 work just fine as well. I prefer the Fulla and the V20 over the Fiio with them. The e12 is warm and is too much with these already warm headphones.

Their website says 483 grams?:

1.53 lbs compared to 1.09 lbs that the opens weigh. 604 g to 478 g weighed on kitchen scales. Seems like the mids are coming it a bit stronger now so hopefully break in improvement but they are definitely warm cans.

kind of like the color on the inside of the cups. They have a good bit of foam and it's thick. I'm guessing it's to keep reflections down but any rate it looks like they took some time to tune it.
