Voodoo snake oil cost me an old bedsheet :)
In-fact my entire 1A MOD, wires, capacitors etc will cost me 20 Dollars hahaha :)
Not much profit in that snake oil :)
5 of those dollars is shipping

And that absence of Glare is extremely noticeable. I have a pretty sharp Audio memory, and I use the same tracks and listen to minutest details to make my A/B Observations.
sorry for my poor English, but what's the glare u refer to? harshness / spikes in treble?

Yes, it's a bit of ringing in the treble, sometimes sounds like spikes. Plasticky sheen, top end.
After switching to a cotton cover that treble harshness and piercing high end is completely gone.
The copper foil is bare copper, no treatment on it's surface. No laminate or wax.

Hard to describe it, but sound is more open, and unforced, natural. Especially with vocals.

Will it somehow dull / darken the top end?
I don't know if I would describe it as darker/duller....yet. Need more time to let my ears adjust.
try a few different tracks before I can make that judgement.

Like for example, I have some ambient psychill tracks that have water effects, Ocean/waves etc, and they sound very convincing and not exaggerated, background is darker on the open cable, lower noise floor for sure.

Sounds like my thing, I'm a man super sensitive (negatively) to treble spikes and metallic zing.
Wanna join the voodoo cult but I'm afraid to give out my firstborn… :p

I made these foil cables from some mundorf Inductors, took the foil out, and Soldered a piece of 12 gauge Neotech OCC coper solid bare wire on both ends.
It's extremely easy to do, and will outperform any Solid/stranded or litz speaker cables you might be using at the moment.

I will be taking the plastic covering off my foil interconnects also.

All this is pretty cheap, no need to sell firstborns lol

Well for someone never touched any solder gun before… it's extremely hard as it seems. I may go to a soldering kindergarten to begin…
It's not about money. Money is easily earned. It's about labor and craftsmanship.

A few hours on youtube and you'll be a pro. It's really easy once you figure out what to do.
Plenty of detailed tutorials out there nowadays

It's so much fun to try all these different things, and the great part of DIY is it's up to your imagination, and you can try things almost instantly. To tune a system properly, you have to be able to play.

Treble is not rolled off, or Dull/Dark
It's precise, very easy to spot on Jazz pianos.

Precise is the exact word I would use. Not Splashy and out of control.

Where do u buy those inductors at ? I may try when I have time
https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/compare-goertz-12awg
12 Gauge for speaker cable / ends rolled onto a piece of Bare 12 Guage Solid OCC Copper wire ( about 4 inches)

I used 16 gauge to make my Interconnect cables. Folded the ends and tinned into my XLR connectors.

mundorfs are on https://www.partsconnexion.com/MUNDORF-77053.html

Either will work.

They even have Silver Gold foil from Mundorf.
http://www.mundorf.com/en/?category=hifi&menu=coils&content=mcoil_sfc

If you want to go completely crazy.

Hi, a few quick questions; many thanks in advance to anyone who could advise:

So I have an unmodded WM1Z (Japanese Tourist Edition).

I've heard it referred to as being equivalent to a modded WM1A.

1) So what I'm wondering, is which Tier of FW (e.g. Jupiter) would be most appropriate for it?

2) Also, I've seen there's a 3.01 FW that's described by @Whitigir as ""3.01 is the best Bass with Extensions andDecays that goes to the infinity, Energetic body. Fluid upper details and excellent lower trebles"". Just to check, is this Solis 3.01 that's being referred to?

3) And finally, would this Solis 3.01 be suitable for the unmodded WM1Z? If not, was a 3.01 bass-enhanced version of Jupiter ever created? (with no pre-requisite FW installations required?)

The 1Z could be described as Sony’s take on a modded 1A.

You need to try the regions and fw yourself to find what suits your gear and tastes best. I’ve ended up with J region and Solis 3.02
