Modifying WM1Z/A

I’ve finally read all the pages in this thread

But I’m still lost

I have an International WM1A stock firmware 3.02 installed.

Mac OS Mojave.

I've tried downloading the links provided in the various pages but unfortunately all of them seem not to be available anymore.

I'm not interested in changing the region of the player, but definitely interested in trying the awesome new firmwares that have been discussed in this thread.

Could anyone be so kind to provide me a link for the new firmwares for Mac OS ?

And would i just need to run these firmwares over the stock 3.02 that i have already installed, or is there something else i'm not understanding (which is probably the case)

Keep us updated on how different the sound is compare to the stock 1Z. Maybe I would follow your footsteps and take the plunge because I am all for it

Doing that from memory is going to be tricky.

Lol, where Do u buy silver gold ?

If you email Mundorf you might be able to get the foil directly from them. Silver Gold is a bit harder to get a hold of

I would start with a pure copper cable, and if you like the change in sound, I would build a Silver Gold after.
Try it, this foil design will leave whatever interconnects or speaker cables you are using in the dust.

By the way, going with that amp is an excellent idea, but you won’t have Sony technologies

Such as

1/ 4 super capacitors

2/ Polymer capacitors

3/ other excellent components such as PML, F resistors

5/ no separated 4 batteries

I am simply just saying that if you think Walkman is already Built like a time proof machine...then DMP is even more advanced, with different designs

There is a mint DMP on sale in Hong Kong for a bit over USD5K, tempting to get this killer.........

All in all, for the price of a WM1Z + a mod, you're almost at the price of this DMP...

And that is why I would grab DMP Z1 in a heart beat (if found 5-6k). Then there is even Internal wires mod for now
