Would the Hybrid Millett MiniMax do an above adequate job driving the K702s?? I am putting together a new system for for under $700. Looking to stray a bit from my HD580s - they will remain in another system. Looking for more separation and soundstage for classical and jazz listening! Any opinions on other AKG K702-worthy amps welcome....

I've just paired my K702s with the Audio-gd C-2C with outstanding results. Haven't too much to compare to though, only the Benchmark DAC Headphone output. Much better resolution and drive through the C-2C.

MilletMAX is great (as is MiniMAX), fairly nice pairing with K701.

Haven't heard this combo personally, but the MilletMAX + K701/2 pairing gets a lot of love here and based on what I've heard about the Millets, it should make a great pairing.

I'm with FallenAngel 100%! Both the Millett Mini and MAX work very well driving the K701/K702 and you'll have the magical tube midrange with the iron-fisted control of the diamond buffers. A great match!
