This is what I heard. More refined, addrd detail, new grills, new drivers.
Sounds like a weird business decision because that headphones sounds like in comparison to the Empyrean that would be the Elite. If they keep all three headphones, to me that would hurt the Elite sales. If they get rid of Empyrean , I think that would make a lot of people unhappy as that’s the euphonic headphone that made the Empyrean was known for.
Regardless to lose sales somewhere in picking up sales on the Empyrean 2. Obviously I haven’t heard that headphone, but it seems like you could probably get that “in between” sound by changing cables on the Elite.
No you can't.
Also pads don't Land there (like Empyrean pads on Elite or vice versa)
Potentially there will be new pads on the new release which in turn open up more combinations on the others.

I was being a little overdramatic with the cable, but on the other head you have no idea either how close or different it will be from the two existing Empyreans until you hear how it sounds.
I have the original the same week it came out and owned it for a couple of years before I moved on. I bought an Elite last year and initially really liked it until I realized it’s too polite for the music I listen to. I went back to the Empyrean this past summer And liked it again, however I picked up a D8000 non-pro a short time afterwards and is perfect for classic rock music, and then sold the Empyrean.
Actually the embargo is 18h UTC+2 on November 8. So be aware it's not at midnight today. But I unfortunately am pretty confident some will mess up Meze's reveal for them.
Where was the reveal, and where is the new Empyrean even mentioned on the net? I heard it from a friend who is a dealer, but have never seen any mention of it anywhere.
