You can try the new Aune AR7000, some early comments said that has even bigger soundstage than AR5000 (open) and better bass responses, I got aune ar5000 and is a great headphone, mids are wonderful, textured ,natural and treble has great extensions and also is natural, so do t go wrong with that, actually is usd599 at AmazonIt's funny you made the comment about planars. I'm in the same boat. I'm looking for a pair of non-planars. I'm mobile and the majority of planars are not.
I to listen to EDM mostly. Tried the Neumann NDH 30's and they did not sync with my tastes. I'd like to try the 109's. I'm willing to spend a little more money but it seems that when one his 4 figures it's all planars. :/.
Other that the 109s, and other non-planar recommendations? Looking for a large soundstage, creamy midrange, solid deep bass (but not over the top), sparking highs but not "shreaking highs" as there is a difference.

Interesting never heard of them. I'm hoping to find some YouTube reviews. This model seems relatively new so maybe I'll have to wait for a few reviews to come out. I like your review thank you for that. I just like comparing multiple reviews and coming up with a sort of average. You can try the new Aune AR7000, some early comments said that has even bigger soundstage than AR5000 (open) and better bass responses, I got aune ar5000 and is a great headphone, mids are wonderful, textured ,natural and treble has great extensions and also is natural, so do t go wrong with that, actually is usd599 at Amazon
I know Aune for their tiny little great amps, some of them even tube amps in the sub 500 range.Interesting never heard of them. I'm hoping to find some YouTube reviews. During the Munich show in May I was surprised to see some headphones on their stand. They said it was brand new and soon available.
They looked good, felt good, sounded good, but not great. I think you get what you pay for. Not more, maybe not less.
It was show condition with background noise, but I have heard there great sounding HPs, great sounding even in show conditions.
In my experience, the Meze 109 Pro doesn't change or scale that much with source equipment, they will sound fine whatever source you use.Hi all, I'm thinking about buying the 109. Does it make sense if I'll only use them with dx320?
Thanks!![]()
Tho this assessment might change, I recently got a hifiman EF499 and it has an interesting sound signature, gonna plug the 109s into them and see if it changes or has good synergy with this system.

Yes, it should be ok. The Meze 109 Pro sounds great on the Sony NW-WM1ZM2 and spectacular on the Aune S17 Pro driven by the Sony. Now, I am using it with the FiiO R7.Hi all, I'm thinking about buying the 109. Does it make sense if I'll only use them with dx320?

Yes, these headphones are indeed very easy to drive
They are however, IMO, an indoor headphone. I would not venture with them any further than my living room couch

Have an R6 pro 2, both the Hiby and 109's for me work well together.ThanksBTW What kind of Hiby DAP do you have?

I run both ways. My favorite pairing is the 109 with my Mojo 2 on the stock cable though.are you guys using a balanced cable? been wondering if i should upgrade my hart cable for my k7
I only run balanced on my other amps and they sure do make the 109’s sing.
I love Hart cables but I recently picked up a Define cable for Arctic Cables and have been very satisfied. I haven't been inclined to make any critical listening comparisons to the Apos vs. stock cables I have, but they checked the magical box of being long enough to let me lay on the couch and fall in love with music all over again.

I use balanced cables on all my headphones and earphones. My belief is that the extra power of the balanced out amps provided better "grip" on the transducers. ChatGPT has a long explanation (including better dynamic range).I run both ways. My favorite pairing is the 109 with my Mojo 2 on the stock cable though.

In summary, the benefits of higher power output generally lie in improved sound quality, greater flexibility, and better control, particularly for high-impedance devices or situations where dynamic range is critical
My most used setup is
Win11 > USB > iFiUSB Power splitter > FiiO K11 R2R LO-SE (preamp) by RCA to FiiO K7 > balanced out > 109 Pros.

Balanced makes absolutely no difference.
Unless the amp you are using has a better performing balanced part of the amp.

Hello, good morning, a few questions, it would be a good combination with the SR25 mk2, you can close the case with the cables placed in the headset.

So far I'm liking my big egg shaped hifimans on the EF499 better than in my S17 and Cyan 2 combo and that's saying a LOT about this dac/ampCool! Let us know
I recently had the EF400 and I really liked it. It sounds really well for its price.
how would you describe the bass of the 109?
for me it surprises me every time i listen to them i am an electronic music fan and the bass really shines here and it never struggles
