This is a thread for discussing the upcoming Meze Audio 109 Pro.
The prototype was available at the Munich High End show.

I had the chance to listen to it with an A&K player that was at the booth and without my gear and my music.

The sound signature reminded me of the Empyrean.
Warm and very musical tuning with good sub bass extension and a mid bass tilt.
Spacy and engaging mids with smooth treble that had good extension and detail.
Open sounding and quite dynamic.
Super comfortable and well build.
This is definitely a Meze headphone.
Music is the priority, analysis comes as a second.

I got a chance to demo them as well at Munich High End. I posted my full thoughts here but I'll point form them in this thread as well:
  • Pleasantly relaxed tuning with a warm mid-bass tilt, good presence and clarity for the primary ear gain region and a tasteful lift to upper treble airiness
  • Surprisingly good detail and clarity for trailing ends of tones
  • Crazy comfortable
  • Impeccable build
  • Looks beautiful

This was a lot better than just a 99 Classic open-back that I think some may have imagined it to be, and something even the most picky of us when it comes to some of these qualities should put on their radar. Hopefully I can get one in soon for a longer listen. Every other reviewer who I spoke to about them seemed impressed as well.

Edit - I should note, this was being run off one of the high end Auris amps at the time.

Do I need these, especially as I already have the Elite, Empyrean, and 99 C? No. Do I want them? Yes! :)
Exactly my feelings

Today I was a little late to the party so I missed the opportunity to listen to the headphone with my own gear.
So I am not able to provide any more information about the sound signature except what I wrote previously.
Munich has some great night life....

Sorry.
Are the ""spokes" on the outside of the headphones plastic or some kind of metal?

Meze has announced these as under $1000 so I wouldn’t be expecting an entry level. I bet these will retail around $800 USD. And by all accounts that I’ve seen these aren’t just an open back 99 Classic. Much better than that.
