Yes. Usually twice the power at the 4.4mm output. The improvements all round of driving phones with more power is discussed in many threads on this website and elsewhere.
can anyone explain what the oratory1990 eq does to the 109? cause i really like it makes the treble more enjoyable for rock music i really have no clue how i am supposed to look at these frequency curves and make out what is going on. https://www.dropbox.com/s/06gldx77zyjr41v/Meze 109 Pro.pdf?dl=0
Meze 109 Pro Open Back Dynamic Headphones with Sennheiser HD 660s2 comparison!

My Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7B headphones balanced, from my Lotoo Paw Gold Touch are competitive with my Meze 109 Pro and Shure SRH1540 headphones. This was quite shocking to me.

Nice video, but I prefer the HD660S2's over the 109 Pro's by a large margin. I find the 109's have soft bass, Amazing mids and a weird treble. The S2's have Really grown on me, especially since I removed the foam "filters" (not sure what to call them).
The HD660S2's have joined my top tier in my collection. The 109's will likely be sold/traded down the line. But they do win on comfort/looks/quality feel though.
As you say, it is all so subjective for each person.

For me, it brought the mids and bass forward a bit and improved the clarity. I liked them very much. Now I love them as much as my favourites (Grado GH2's, Focal Clear OG's and HiFiman HE6se V2's).
Believe it or not, I have been LOVING Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7B headphones balanced paired with Lotoo Paw Gold Touch and Sony NW-WM1Z lately. It gets the most time. I use LQI Cables balanced cables. They punch way above $249. The Meze is great on LPGT. I love and go between those two. For more relaxing listening, I do Shure SRH1540 headphones.

I also prefer the 660s2 when it comes to sound especially in the midrange over the 109pro so we are in agreement there but like you said some will prefer the 109 Pro and I also enjoyed the 109 Pro and could see some people enjoying both!
I respectfully disagree. I’ve owned both and they’re both excellent in their own right. Just because we’re fawning over the 109’s, doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate the strengths of others

hd660s2 is very warm sometimes bloated in some male vocals make things sound very very thick too thick compared to Verite also the treble is very relaxed almost dark i think ( this type of sound usually is better for western market where people dont quiet like too much treble ). 109 pro is more neutral without too much spice in the treble or upper midrange. IMO 109 pro is very good too and if you have hd660s2 and 109 pro you can keep them both because both provide different type of sound and musical enjoyment.
Hi all, got the 109 for a month listening to iFi dongle. I'm looking for a desktop setup and want to try a tube amp. Any recommendation. I'm thinking of getting the Eversolo A6 and output to an amp. Looking to future proof the system a bit as thinking about other headphones in the future.
