Not quite sure what you mean, is the meze muddy or open sounding?

I think he's saying that a little more openness would help with what little bit of muddiness there may be. I don't find any muddiness or bleed myself. I'm also using the 1st generation pads.

With bassy setups the 99 can sound very bassy, but with transparent rigs it'll open up without ditching the best things about it. It all depends on what you do with these cans, but most importantly they provide potential to work with. That's why so many people like them!

Not sure if this has been asked but
- For people who have tried both the original earpads and the new-original (small, 61mm) earpads, how do they sound in relation to each other and the large pads? When I emailed Meze they said the new-original (small) are designed to sound "similar" to the originals, but I'd like more detailed input from people who have tried them both. Thanks.

Have you got those earpads yet?
Hi! Sorry, been hectic at work and totally forgot about this thread and my promise to post my experiences.
So, I got the "sheep leather" replacement pads;

They are SO comfortable.. I bought 3 extra pairs of these pads after I first tried them.
Got them on my Urbanfun Berylliums too.
They look and feel lush. They didn't impact the sound at all imo.
If anything, they make for a better seal around my ears (I wear glasses).
This is litteraly one of the best (and cheapest) purchases I've done in a while.
