@Dobrescu George will you write an review on the TOTL Meze Empyrean?
I am planning to, been waiting on that for a while
I think he's saying that a little more openness would help with what little bit of muddiness there may be. I don't find any muddiness or bleed myself. I'm also using the 1st generation pads.
Yes, these EQ settings are an absolute must imo. I thought they sounded really good prior, but after equalization, they sound fantastic.. On a whole nuva lebel
With bassy setups the 99 can sound very bassy, but with transparent rigs it'll open up without ditching the best things about it. It all depends on what you do with these cans, but most importantly they provide potential to work with. That's why so many people like them!
hi is there an easy way to tell whether the earpads are the original or the newer version?
I think the originals have smooth interior and the new ones are wrinkly.
There are side by side pictures within the last 30 pages or so. You can do the legwork haha.
i have received my meze 99 classics and they are impressive but for one thing
the short cable has a 4-pole jack which does not work with my dx120 or computer, any solutions would be welcome
Feelin' a wee bit sadist today?
Not sure if this has been asked but
- For people who have tried both the original earpads and the new-original (small, 61mm) earpads, how do they sound in relation to each other and the large pads? When I emailed Meze they said the new-original (small) are designed to sound "similar" to the originals, but I'd like more detailed input from people who have tried them both. Thanks.
Does anyone have Sony mdr-z7? I read that it's so good closed headphones. How does it with compare with meze 99 classics? Does it will be upgrade?
Have you got those earpads yet?
Hi! Sorry, been hectic at work and totally forgot about this thread and my promise to post my experiences.
So, I got the "sheep leather" replacement pads;
They are SO comfortable.. I bought 3 extra pairs of these pads after I first tried them.
Got them on my Urbanfun Berylliums too.
They look and feel lush. They didn't impact the sound at all imo.
If anything, they make for a better seal around my ears (I wear glasses).
This is litteraly one of the best (and cheapest) purchases I've done in a while.
