I spent the first half of my day with this setup.

The Opus#2>99C is one hell of a combo.

Latecomer to the party here; just ordered a pair (walnut & silver); can't wait to hear them when they arrive tomorrow.

Is it worth getting the largest pads? Currently wearing the intermediate ones...

The latest international ones come with the largest pads available.

Wow. That is interesting. Any idea when this is going to happen? On the fence deciding on the 99s. But, given how often i buy headphones, I would rather wait.....

The wait might be a bit long, @lifeisbeautiful , maybe too long as there are other products in schedule for now.

So what are you saying, that I should buy another headphone so I get large pads? That's a bit extreme ☺️

Haha I am saying that if you got it with a few months they already have the largest of the three

Not sure of any sales, but I did return a used pair of Meze 99 through Amazon Warehouse. I think I paid $265.00 ($248 before taxes). The condition was rated very good, but it was pretty much in like-new condition...Was in perfect working order. Just preferred the Ultrasone Edition 8 sound.

The color is the black and gold...just keep an eye out for it (if the price is to your liking)....

I'm really interested in these due to the reviews I've read but they are almost double the other headphones I am interested in purchasing. $309+tax on amazon vs $185 shipped on ebay.
Can I ask what DAP is recommended to drive these and to scale the best sound out of these? I have a budget of $800 total for phones, dap, and dac/amp if necessary.

I am currently using X5 III -- A5 amp -- 99 classics .. the results I am getting are more than satisfactory for my listening preference.

I can recommend the Opus #1. It's within your budget, and sounds WAY beyond its pricing.
